Origin Story - Emily in the Elevator: Rufus, the adorable Labradoodle

Just look at those faces!

As you read Emily in the Elevator, you meet Chris Anderson, Jr.’s dog, Rufus. He is Chris’s companion and friend. They have a special bond, and we learn why he is so important to Chris as the story progresses. Rufus is a chocolate Labradoodle and is smart, listening to Chris’s every word. The fictional character Rufus is a compilation of our Labradoodle, Cocoa (left), and our standard Poodle, Dakota (right). Rufus’s personality is a blend of both of their characters.

Cocoa traveled over the rainbow bridge 7 years ago. Dakota has been a part of our family for 6 years.
